Ventre’s Adventures is a travel company that specializes in study abroad programs for middle school and high school students.  We build transformative learning experiences and college readiness programs that challenge students’ cultural and personal comfort zones. Each program is carefully designed to target specific learning goals enhancing the student’s ability to prepare for higher education.

We pride ourselves on developing the most cost-effective education programs that allow students to learn from some of the best professionals in the field.

But—we get it.

Traveling can still be expensive. In order to try and serve as many students as possible, Ventre’s Adventures is launching a scholarship fund to provide students with the financial possibility to participate in a program. Each student from an enrolled tour will have the option to apply for a scholarship to use towards the cost of his or her program.

Basic Scholarship  Details

In order to apply, the participants must submit two essays, each 500-700 words in length. The first essay is the statement of purpose and the second essay is community impact essay. Participants must also submit two letters of recommendation. The recipient of each scholarship will be chosen by a selection committee, which will be separate from all Ventre’s Adventures personnel.

  • Q. Who is eligible?

A. Any full-time student accepted into a Ventre’s Adventures student travel program who has signed, or parents have signed, the Terms and Conditions and Waiver of Release. Full-time is defined as a full schedule for both middle school students and high school students. For high school students, most of the curriculum should be completed on campus.

  • Q. Are previous recipients of the Ventre’s Adventures Scholarship Fund Eligible to Re-Apply?

A. A Ventre’s Adventures Scholarship recipient can only receive the scholarship once. If you previously declined the scholarship or if were not awarded the scholarship, you are welcome to re-apply.

  • Q. Does the selection committee know the names and socioeconomic status of each applicant?

A. No. The scholarship is need blind, and the committee will not know the names of the applicants.

  • Q. What Is The Financial Value Of A Ventre’s Adventures Scholarship?

A. We are hoping to award one, $500-$750 (more in the future!) scholarship to each student travel program. As we continue to grow, so will our scholarships!

  • Q. Who Funds The Ventre’s Adventures Scholarship?

A. Ventre’s Adventures hosts two events a year, as well as accepts donations year-round.

  • Q. Is There A Health Insurance Requirement If I Receive A Ventre’s Adventures Scholarship?

A. Yes. If you are selected as a scholarship recipient, you must furnish evidence of international insurance coverage to include health, accident, emergency evacuation and repatriation of remains insurance.

How To Apply For The Scholarship

Step 1: Write The Scholarship Essays

There are two essays required as a part of the Ventre’s Adventures Scholarship. You should carefully review your essay, and proofread for spelling, grammar, and content prior to submission.

Essay 1: Statement of Purpose

In this essay, be specific in your individual reasons for choosing this program. It would be beneficial to research about the host country ahead of time. Discuss these topics:

  • How will this program help you achieve your future academic and/or professional goals?
  • Why did you select this particular program?
  • What aspects abroad do you expect to be the most challenging?
  • What knowledge, skills, and experiences will you draw on to meet these challenges?

Essay 2:  Community Impact Essay

In this essay, you will discuss global citizenship, and how you will contribute to building a mutual understanding between your home country and your destination country.

You will create a proposal that addresses the following topics as specifically as possible:

  • In what way can you create an understanding between where you live and where you traveled? Design a specific project.
  • What are the goals of your design? Who is the intended audience?
  • How will you showcase the impact of your experience abroad into your design?
  • How can you bring awareness to Ventre’s Adventures and the Ventre’s Adventures Scholarship?

Step 2: Request Other Documents

Each application also requires two letters of recommendation. Both letters of recommendation should be signed and saved as a PDF.  The letter of recommendation can be from a teacher, coach, boss, etc. The letter of recommendation cannot be completed by family members and/or guardians.

Step 3: Submit Your Scholarship Application

Once you have all of your documents, you will email them to [email protected].

In your email, state your name, grade, and the program you are traveling on. All documents should be attached to the email, and saved in the following format:
